A Pair of Arrests Following London Heathrow Irritant Spray Attack

Placeholder Heathrow Airport scene
The assault resulted in the temporary closure of the CTA tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

Two more people are now in custody in connection with a theft at Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals sustained injuries by a substance believed to be pepper spray, as stated by law enforcement.

A man, 24, was arrested in Lambeth on suspicion of robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. They both remain in custody, authorities confirmed.

These detentions come after a probe into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the attack, two women had stolen from them their luggage upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A three-year-old girl was one of the those hurt in the event. Five people went to hospital for treatment and were later discharged.

Police detained a man in his thirties on suspicion of theft and assault close to the location. He was subsequently released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Police were alerted at about 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding a number of individuals hurt by an irritating chemical thought to be pepper spray.

The attack - an event that authorities stated was a standalone incident and not considered terrorism - resulted in delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility for a short time.
